We’re becoming increasingly aware of the amount of pollutants in everyday products that are bad for our health and so not good for the environment. Yet, when it comes to cleaning our homes are we smart enough to ditch the chemical-laden kitchen spray and the toxic toilet cleaner?
Well… are we? *scratches head*
Let’s talk endocrine disruptors. Heh? They are synthetic chemicals that - at certain doses - can interfere and mimic your body’s natural hormones (like estrogens, androgens and thyroid hormones). This can potentially lead to overstimulation of your hormones, which can disrupt your body’s natural systems, leading to negative health outcomes.
There’s nothing sexy about pesky underarms stains, yet how many times have you caught sight of yellow rings or crusty white marks in your armpit area? Embarrassing!
But hey, it’s okay. It happens to the best of us and, thankfully, where there’s a will there’s always a way – of banishing underarms stains for good.
Pro-perspirant? Say waaahhhh? The ‘pro-perspirant’ movement says, “Yes” to sweat and “No” to clogging up our pores with man made contaminants. Because despite the rumours, sweating is good for us.
It’s one of the things that makes us scratch our heads the most. You see it all the time through the social “pipes” (because, let’s face it, it’s hard not to overshare on social media hehe!). You’ve probably seen it too. The friend on a health kick.
Braving the elements in the middle of winter is not everyone’s thing. And plodding up and down on a treadmill can be as boring as bat poo. So what are you to do keep your body moving and the blood pumping?
“Summer bodies are built in winter” … [Groan]. We’ve all read the personal trainer's favourite bumper sticker but it doesn’t make it any easier to crawl out from under your warm blanket when it’s 5am and 4 degrees. But before you roll back over for just 10 more minutes, it sounds like your way-too-energetic-for-5am personal trainer just might be right.
It’s so easy to NOT think about garbage. It’s not really a very nice thing to think about… it can be smelly, and dirty and pretty gross. Best that it’s someone else’s problem. Unfortunately that kind of thinking is way too common, and it has created a bit of a mess.
Ever wondered how to improve your smell? Well, there’s something really easy you can do to make a huge difference. And it’ doesn’t have anything to do with perfume or deodorant.
So… the strangest thing happened this week… I actually got a chance to SIT DOWN and READ. Oh my. And it’s got the ol’ noggin working overtime. So this week we’ve got something a little different for you to muse over.
