“Hey Phoebe and Aaron, how do you make Woohoo deodorants?” What a fantastic question, but it’s really hard to answer this without giving away trade secrets! We’ll give it a darn good go though.
When we first started Woohoo we didn’t actually realise the impact that one little (getting bigger!) brand could have on the environment, but with growth comes a lot of responsibility, and that's not something we take lightly. We don’t actually talk about this much, but we’re a member of a really cool organisation called 1% For The Planet. So today we’re going to shout about it from the rafters.
Has your fur baby had a spring in their step this month? Or maybe you’ve noticed them sleeping a little better? You can hardly blame them after the news they’ve had. In case you haven’t heard, there has been a massive development in the fight against animal testing in Australia. Yay us!
Sweat cops a lot of flack. But do you really know the ins and outs of your body? Sweat is essential in the running of your body to ensure you don’t overheat, keeps your skin moisturised and fights off infections by keeping your immune system strong. It’s a clever bodily function that we think deserves a whole lot more lovin’.
Diatomaceous earth, or DE, say whaaaaat? Sounds like something from prehistoric ages! And it kind of is. Let us explain. In short, it’s a naturally occurring, soft, and super fine plant and algae fossil.
Ever feel like you're basically swimming your way through your vinyasa? Or sticky thighs and pit stains are your everyday norm? Just like our body shapes, sweat is different for everyone.
There’s a bunch of essential oils on the market from anise and basil through to frankincense, tangerine and ylang-ylang (and about a million others in between). Yet given the abundance of essential oils, many people end up feeling overwhelmed or intimidated.
Heck, we’ve just passed the Winter Solstice, which means we’ve gotten past the shortest day of the year, but there’s still another 2 months of short days, cooler terms and gloomy skies. Your favourite bathers and glorious sun-kissed tans are still a while off… BUT! You don’t have to succumb to winter blues. Nuh-uh, not on our watch.
We get it, some days you’re absolutely swamped with work, family time or too ‘busy’ having a Game of Thrones marathon, all of which are totally legitimate excuses to skip the gym. But, if you fall under the category of loathing workout time and the prospect gives you a migraine, don’t fret!
We’re becoming increasingly aware of the amount of pollutants in everyday products that are bad for our health and so not good for the environment. Yet, when it comes to cleaning our homes are we smart enough to ditch the chemical-laden kitchen spray and the toxic toilet cleaner?
Well… are we? *scratches head*
Let’s talk endocrine disruptors. Heh? They are synthetic chemicals that - at certain doses - can interfere and mimic your body’s natural hormones (like estrogens, androgens and thyroid hormones). This can potentially lead to overstimulation of your hormones, which can disrupt your body’s natural systems, leading to negative health outcomes.
