The Benefits of Taking Some Time To Love Yourself

  • 2 min read

In 5 minutes a day you can get better skin and it

  • Is easy
  • has instant results and
  • won’t cost you a cent

It also has the side effects of relieving stress, providing energy and increasing awareness. It has the power to change your mood and perceptions making you a better person.

Don’t worry it doesn’t require you to call your children Rainbow or trade your little black dress in for tie die overalls (unless of course you want to).

What is it?

It is simply taking the time to look within and care for your emotional well being or Self Love

When was the last time you took 5 minutes for some self love? Be honest. When was the last time you did something completely for your own inner peace and emotional health?

Coincidently your daily skincare routine is the perfect opportunity. It’s private, quiet and by using skincare products you include the power of touch.

As humans it is built into a DNA to crave touch. It allows us to feel love, respect and care on a level that words cannot match. Touch cares for our emotional wellbeing and it doesn’t have to be from somebody else. Our own touch can do this as well.

So if it is so easy and so amazing why don’t we do it every day?

It’s probably because we think it is selfish. Taking care of yourself is not selfish but the complete opposite. A little bit of self love and appreciation will make you smile more, lower stress, make better decisions, be more confident, have more energy and therefore you will have a positive impact on those around you.

It all breaks down to 5 simple things

  1. Promise yourself that you will not be interrupted
  2. Be in a quiet, comfortable space (your bathroom is fine)
  3. Shut your eyes and draw awareness to your breath.
  4. Say positive things to yourself
  5. Give yourself a massage with your favourite organic oil (if you are unsure how to massage a slow, gentle rub does the trick)

It is a commitment but all it takes is 5 minutes a day for a better you.
