Are your products suitable for sensitive skin?

Most of them are made with sensitive skin in mind, and several of our best-loved products are unscented and essential oil free. But we'd rather be straight with you than give you a blanket yes: some of our formulas carry essential oils and some of our deodorants carry bicarb, and those are the two we'd expect to be more likely to trouble sensitive skin. So it depends which product, and it depends on your skin.

If you're starting from scratch, this is the facial routine we'd suggest:

  1. Cleanse - Cloud 9 Deep Cleansing Balm, removed with lukewarm water and a Konjac Sponge.
  2. Hydrate - Raindrops Hydrating Face Mist.
  3. Moisturise - Over the Moon Rich Repair Cream, or Laugh Out Loud Nourishing Facial Oil if your skin prefers an oil.

Raindrops, Over the Moon and Laugh Out Loud are all essential oil free, and the last two are unscented as well. Cloud 9 is the exception: it carries mandarin, lemon myrtle and sandalwood oils, so skip it if you're avoiding essential oils or citrus.

If it's deodorant you're asking about, the bicarb-free scents are Mellow, Tango and Drift. Mellow is the simplest place to start: it's the only one that's both bicarb-free and essential oil free. Skin varies a lot in how it gets on with bicarb, so if you'd rather try one of the bicarb scents, go sparingly to start: up to three swipes of a stick, or no more than half a pea of paste per underarm. Stop if you notice any redness or irritation, and get in touch so we can help you find a gentler one.

With anything going on your face, try it somewhere out of the way first: a little along the jawline or behind the ear, left for a day or so, before you use it all over. Leave a few days between introducing one product and the next so you can tell which one your skin is responding to.

If you'd like a hand putting a routine together, our free Email Skin Consult is there for you. And if you're after the fuller version of the routine above, including the habits that go with it, start here.
